3 Days Mikumi Safari Itinerary

Day1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

On  Day 1 of the breathtaking 3 days Mikumi Safari, we’ll start by picking you up from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. To beat the morning traffic, we’ll depart at 6:00 am, or we’ll adjust the departure time based on your flight arrival. As we drive along the Dar es Salaam-Morogoro highway, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the coastal region and vast sisal plantations. In Morogoro town, admire the stunning Uluguru Mountains to the south before continuing on the journey towards Mikumi National Park, a total distance of 303 km from Dar es Salaam.

Arriving in the mid-day, we’ll pause for a delicious lunch at one of the park’s public picnic sites, surrounded by the Arc Eastern Mountains. After lunch we’ll continue with our Mikumi safari to explore this vast ecosystem which extends into Selous Game Reserve, providing a haven for an incredible variety of wildlife. Get ready for an extraordinary wilderness experience, where you’ll encounter herds of zebras, giraffes, hippos lazing in pools, and various antelope species as soon as we enter the park gates. The game viewing experience in the open horizons of Mkata floodplains is simply astounding and rivals that of the famous Serengeti plains.
