3 Days Mikumi Safari From Dar es Salaam

On  Day 1 of the breathtaking 3 days Mikumi Safari, we’ll start by picking you up from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. To beat the morning traffic, we’ll depart at 6:00 am, or we’ll adjust the departure time based on your flight arrival. As we drive along the Dar es Salaam-Morogoro highway, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the coastal region and vast sisal plantations. In Morogoro town, admire the stunning Uluguru Mountains to the south before continuing on the journey towards Mikumi National Park, a total distance of 303 km from Dar es Salaam.

Arriving in the mid-day, we’ll pause for a delicious lunch at one of the park’s public picnic sites, surrounded by the Arc Eastern Mountains. After lunch we’ll continue with our Mikumi safari to explore this vast ecosystem which extends into Selous Game Reserve, providing a haven for an incredible variety of wildlife. Get ready for an extraordinary wilderness experience, where you’ll encounter herds of zebras, giraffes, hippos lazing in pools, and various antelope species as soon as we enter the park gates. While exploring the park during our game drive, keep your eyes peeled for the Big Five, with the exception of rhinos. One of the highlights of Mikumi Safari is the opportunity to spot the rare Wild Dogs. As the evening sets in, we’ll escort you to your chosen accommodation for a delightful dinner and a well-deserved overnight stay.

Today after a scrumptious breakfast, embark on a full day of adventure in Mikumi National Park’s diverse landscapes. Picture woodlands, swamps, and vast grasslands stretching out as far as the eye can see, surrounded by the Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains. The game viewing experience in the open horizons of Mkata floodplains is simply astounding and rivals that of the famous Serengeti plains. Mikumi Safari is renowned for offering an abundance of wildlife within a short timeframe, ensuring an extraordinary safari experience. Your knowledgeable driver will assist in spotting predators such as lions, often seen stalking their prey near watering holes. Immerse yourself in the traditions and culture of the Maasai people as you meet elders and women from the community. Prepare to be enchanted as you join Maasai warriors in their traditional songs and dances. Afterward, we’ll return to the lodge for a delectable dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Start the last day of your 3 days Mikumi Safari by enjoying a leisurely breakfast before packing your belongings. We’ll then begin our journey back to Dar es Salaam, making a stop in Morogoro Town for a delightful lunch. Arriving in Dar es Salaam in the early afternoon, you’ll be dropped off at the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your incredible 3-day Mikumi Safari adventure.
