Day 1: Tarangire National Park – A Hidden Gem

Your group tour adventure begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, often referred to as a hidden gem among Tanzania’s national parks. The park is renowned for its large elephant herds, majestic baobab trees, and diverse bird species.

As you embark on your first game drive, keep your eyes peeled for the large elephant herds that Tarangire is famous for. Besides the gentle giants, the park is home to zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and various predators, including lions and leopards. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted by the over 300 bird species recorded in the park. One of Tarangire’s most iconic sights is its ancient baobab trees. These towering giants, some over a thousand years old, are a sight to behold and provide excellent photographic opportunities. Their massive trunks and gnarled branches are a testament to their resilience and longevity.

After a day full of game drives and exploring, drive to Lake Manyara area to your chosen campsite. The clear night skies and sounds of the African bush make for a serene and unforgettable end to your first day.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – A World Heritage Site

On the second day of the group tour, you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor, nestled 600 meters below the rim, offers a haven for wildlife and stunning panoramas. Your knowledgeable driver guide will help you to explore this majestic caldera and its wildlife.

The Ngorongoro Crater is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo). Its unique ecosystem supports a vast array of animals, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to see the Big Five in their natural habitat.

The views from the crater rim are nothing short of spectacular. The vastness of the crater, combined with the abundance of wildlife and the azure blue of Lake Magadi, makes for a picture-perfect safari experience.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is also home to the Maasai people, who coexist with the wildlife. On this group tour safari you will get an opportunity to visiting a Maasai village and glimpse into their traditional way of life, which has remained largely unchanged for centuries.

In the afternoon you will ascend the crater rim back to Lake Manyara area for dinner and overnight at Kizumba Camp.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – A Scenic Jewel

The final leg of your group tour adventure takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic jewel known for its incredible birdlife, tree-climbing lions, and dramatic landscapes. The park is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 400 bird species recorded. The park’s alkaline lake attracts flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and storks. The surrounding forests and grasslands provide habitat for an array of other bird species.

One of the park’s most intriguing sights is its tree-climbing lions. While lions are typically ground dwellers, the lions in Lake Manyara often take to the trees to escape the heat or watch for prey. Seeing these majestic predators lounging in the branches is a unique and fascinating sight.

Lake Manyara offers a diverse landscape, from its alkaline lake to lush forests and rocky escarpments. The contrast between the serene lake and rugged terrain creates a stunning backdrop for wildlife viewing and photography.

After a day of exploring this unique reserve on the group tour you will then drive back to Arusha and dropped at your chosen hotel.
