2 Days Safari in Mikumi National Park Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Mikumi national park.

Our driver guide will come to pick you from the hotel in Dar es Salaam at 06:00 am to start your 2 days Mikumi Safari. You will drive through the Morogoro highway where along the way you will enjoy the beautiful view of the changing landscapes, rolling hills, small towns and scattered villages.  Arrive Mikumi in the mid day and stop in one of the public picnic site where you will take your picnic lunch while enjoy the stunning view of the surrounding bushes. You shouldn’t surprise to see some monkeys come to greet you and even still your meals. After the meals continue with the game drives in different areas of the park including the Mkata floodplains and the waterholes. Game viewing safari in Mikumi national park is excellent as the park support a large population of wildlife includes elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopars, hyenas, giraffes, elands, greater kudus, zebra, wildebeest, hartebeest, varied species of antelopes, hippos, reptiles and different species of birds. During dry season from June to October these animals use feed near the water bodies which offers the best opportunity to spot them. In the evening you will drive to the small town of Mikumi which is located at the outskirt of the park for dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian or any other accommodation of similar standards.

 

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer.

This is the last day of your 2 days safari in Mikumi national park where you will continue to explore the beauty of this pristine park. Departs the camp with picnic lunch and continue with game drives till 11:00 am when you will en-route to Dar es Salaam. During game drives your driver guide will help you to locate animals which you couldn’t manage to see on the first day. If lucky you will see the rare roan antelopes and the pack of wild dogs. At 11:00 am you will start leave the park for the journey back to Dar es Salaam.
